Alright, heres the deal. I'll be playing Empire Earth 2: Art of Conquest, and after about 20 minutes, the FPS will be at like 38, then it'd jump down to 3 and accelerate back up to 30ish really fast. Then 2 seconds later it'll do the exact same thing.
The wierd thing is, is that this only happens in EE:AoC. Not in Halo, Not in Farcry, not in GTA3 either. I have updated ATI Graphics drivers and my system specs are:
Processor: Intel Pentium 4e, 3.0ghz, 800mhz FSB, Socket 478 (Prescott)
Motherboard: Albatron PX915P4C Pro
Ram: 768mb Samsung and Kingston PC2100/PC2700 ram (mixed)
Videocard: Sapphire Radeon X300SE w/Hypermemory (shares system ram)
Ive noticed that my processor hits around 83C while playing EE:AoC. And it Idles at about 62C. Yes, i know, its EXTREMELY hot. I've cleaned the dust from the computer.. but it seems not to help one bit.
So I was wondering, is there anything that i could do to cool down the Processor and/or atleast get a steady FPS reading? I would do watercooling, but i have ABSOLUTELY no money.
Help please, cuz im worried about the Prescott.
