My point is the Game prices are not set so that they have a reasonable price in every country. For example in most of Europe except the UK the price is measured in euros, so for most AAA titles the price is 50 euros if I'm not mistaken. However in our currency 50 euros = half of the lowest monthly salary. Which is just ludicrous.
Well yeah, but if you get 100 euro's a month and live seperate from your parents, I think gaming is generally the last of your worries. But also, I don't know the value of euros as compared to dollars.

I pirate most of the games I play, if I end up really liking it, I'll buy it. I'm more inclined to buy it if it has a good multiplayer (since most pirated games won't be able to play online.) If I'm bored and want to tinker around with a game, I'm too lazy to go find a used copy or something, I'll just get it for free and uninstall it after I get bored.

He is not the only one who says that. And i agree. The only reason why i would download a game is because there are no decent demos or vids of it. Though i generally try to boycott Ubisoft titles because of their DRM all together.
This. I grew up in an age where EVERY game had a demo, and you got *gasp* updates and map packs for FREE!!! People tend to say 'Well you need a different team to make the demo, causing them to have to pull people from the game itself to develop it' to which I say bullshit. There has never been a reason they couldn't simply do what say, left 4 dead did, and pull 1 segment out of a full left from (not from l4d's case) the middle of the game. So I tend to pirate any game that I'm interested in before I buy, if there is no demo available. If I enjoy it, I buy it, if not it's because they didn't deserve the money anyway.

Though like Grega said, I try to avoid any Ubisoft product because of their DRM.

What used copy. STEAM, Origin and similar services have successfully disabled the second hand market along with as much as lending a game to someone so he can see if he wants to buy it for himself.

To me, games are too much of a hassle to pirate, and honestly, I like supporting game companies. I've even started buying music that I like, which is crazy talk. I pirate the hell out of TV shows if they're not on Netflix, though, because I'd rather watch TV on my laptop.

There are games that aren't on steam, it's pretty neat.

To be fair, 99.9% of all new games are on Steam. Even almost all new indie games worth having.

DRM is clearly pointless if I can download anything I want anyway, including WoW and Diablo 3.

Nothing is un-hackable, people prove it time and time again. They should stop wasting money on it and make games cheaper.

Cheaper RRP is the best way to stop a pirate
Probably the best freakin' solution one could think of.

Boy, Sub... you must have a lot of money to spare.

Ahh.. but you have to remember, you're talking about a corporation.. they NEED to have their cake and eat it too. If they can't, they have to find a reason that ISN'T a fault of their own, as to why. No logic is involved, and seeing as this is OBVIOUSLY the most logical solution, and they would at the same time be undercutting other companies in the process with the prices, they would also get a boost in sales.. they simply can't do that. Just easier to brand PC players as pirates and remove the funding spent on porting a game to the PC.

- Netflix is like 7 dollars a month.
- Sales happen regularly on Steam. If you're patient, you can get whatever game you want for 50-75% off, which usually means you'll be paying 5 - 10 dollars for a game.
- A new album ranges in price, but they're usually ten bucks or under.
- You don't have to buy everything under the sea. How many new albums / games are you really going to play?
