I think that people should be forgiven. To dwell on someone and not excuse their humanity is never a good solution, IMO.
Whether people choose to accept forgiveness, though, is a different story. It is often said that the greatest possible sin a person can commit is to refuse forgiveness.

I thought it was exactly what the topic was about...

I believe that some people are bad and some people good. There are some that can make a 180 but I wouldn't hold it over on too many people. I don't believe in forgiveness for everyone, only for those who earn it.

Some people can change, other's can't or just won't. I feel you can only forgive a person so many times until they've exhausted that option.

Forgiveness can stretch to a degree but the more a person does wrong the harder it is to forgive them

I 100% agree with Sonic, forgiveness for those who earn it, . . . but I also give mercy to those who can't. Sadly, it's not always in our personal power to give forgiveness, the greater good may demand standing by a punsihment for example.

forgive but do not forget

if someone punches you and says sorry, then keeps doing it. you would be a fool to keep forgiving him.

IMHO, everyone should be forgiven, but never forgotten.

Some people however, like Hittler and Sadam have commited such terrible crimes, should never be forgiven. But aside from these exceptions, i still agree with what i said first.

I think you could forgive a person if you were ABSOLUTLY sure that the would never do it again (brainwash or somthing)

i think you should always forgive, whether they keep doing the same thing repeatedly or not. its up to them whether they accept it or not. i mean does it hurt to forgive someone for a wrongful thing theyve done? no. the only thing that isnt forgivable would be not asking for forgiveness, and that is not something that i am able to deal with.

Yes, it does hurt you to forgive someone. If you are too forgiving too often, you can be viewed upon as ignorant and weak. People in this world will quickly and easily take advantage of you.

You can't just do something wrong and expect to be forgiven. People have to make an attempt to earn there forgiveness.

If you choose to forgive, keep your eyes open and don't forget what happened last time. O_O
