The first person I spoke to on any IM proggy from the ESF community was Deverz, and it was about the board being shut down after VT imploded about some maturity problems that the crowd had then.

However, the first person I spoke to from the ESF community (before I was even Cucumba) was Antoine, the second SSJ-Script author. We were both in the #esf IRC channel for the 2.0 release party. At that time, we had the Java applett on the main page.

I came to the forums of my own damn volition (worst mistake ever ;P ) I think the first time I ever came to IRC was the 1.0 release party, and probably the first person I talked to was either Dev or Hib asking them to +m the channel since everyone was *****ing about the team releasing it too slow.
