well that happens to me before
reinstall the game do not get the game from a cd download from www.esf-world.com
and install the game if the game still freze do what i did reinstall windows

It could be the game (in this case ESF) issue, or you have things installed wrongly that causes the game to crash.. (but i seriously doubt that)..
You could try updating your video card first, and update your windows + your Directx if its needed, the latest version of directx is 9.0c
You might as well try to reinstall ESF (if needed), if you just installed it, then its seriously not needed.., if it still crashes, then its either a hardware related problem or its the game itself.
