I just saw it, man was it good. I just loved everything about it, was sad too at times.

The tital wave scene was awesome, as well was the tropo-freeze scene.

I liked the first half or so of it the most, where all the storms and whatnot were happening.
I loved the last scene though, where it shows the Earth and the newly defined polar ice caps.

It was a horrible movie.. awesome CG but the story really did suck. I put it up there with the movie "The core" with bull crap weather events. Ice age that takes 10 days come on... thats about as good a plot as having the core of the earth stop spinning...

Actually Hsu, they explained that rather nicely, and it somewhat works scientifically. The only thing they exaggerated was the time frame. It would be closer to 10 years than 10 days, but that Tropospheric Cyclone could actually happen, and it would be that bad.

Though I must say, character development was . . . well null, but I expected that walking in.

But I dont think the size of the Troposperic Cyclone could increase as big as the scientists said it would. I just couldnt imagine it.
It was a cool movie though, I liked it when all the tornados ripped through LA.
(In the movie they were all freakin out when they had tonados in LA, they said it was uncommon? How come California doesnt get any tornadoes.)

What RP said, Very well done. Iliked the movie alot. i thought it was great. The storyline was great,to me, and cg was awesome too. I take it Hsu you dont like those types of movies where they exagerate things and make impossible things happen? In this case, in 10 days? Neways, 8.5/10 from me.

I liked the movie especially the CG and the entire thought behind it. Being swallowed by nature, sort of say. But next to that it wasn't that good, it was the standard story of absent father that rescues son in trouble which is after a girl and being a hero because of the stories of his father. Really one of the worst stories ever, but that isnt what made the movie fun to watch. And it could actually happen, although not really in this amount of time. BUt the mamoth who was frozen during eating, that really was found and there are scientists who say the same thing as this movie said.

Actually MP, imagine one half of the world being the worst low pressure system in modern history, then it collides with the warm air over the equator.

Every scientist agrees that that scenario would produce the worst storm system the world has ever seen. What they don't agree about is the length of time it would take to create that system. I personally don't believe in the 10 day scenario, but after 10 years of horrendous storms at the equator, the troposhperic cyclones would be . . . just this side of nightmarish.

Laheen, the tropospheric storms would eventually end upon contact with the water, as they were land based storms. Not to mention that once they hit the equator they would rapidly loose all the cold air that created them. The storms were stated to be moving in the movie, and it was also stated that the ice they left in their wake would last 100s of years.

It was not what I thought it would be. The effects were nice, but I walked away feeling disapointed.

The first half hour to hour was great, the twisters in LA, the tsunami in manhatten. Just wow... then... it turned from genoside to disney... The buget just. stoped.. And then thoos fine american movie makers desided to passed the lamest father-son story ever make up by man.. no.. i think a machine made it cuz it just defines lame.. they should have sold half tickets only good for the first amazing part. would be alot better then that ruined by the "story". Nice hyped up movie, horrible end result. And just notice how lovely you only see the AMERICAN side of the dissaster. makes me proud of being a earopean >_>

I really need to see it, they pressed loads of trailer on my face, when I visited Troy etc,. and internet. I doubt i'll be seeing it in cinema though. will prolly rent/buy it on dvd when it's out.

Well, that's just wrong, on multiple levels.. There's a whole bunch of scenes in England, there's a scene in Japan.. And the Mexican Border..

Anyway, it's natural they'd focus on the "AMERICAN" side of the disaster, as it's an American movie, and the main characters are American.

And you'd think of someone so proud of being a European would bother to spell European correctly.
