Ive just noticed that most people is using Steam, Wat is it and wats the differnet between that and 1.1???

i think what you are meaning is what is the difference of WON and steam,
steam is a replacement of won, it offers tons of extra features, and is easy to use, as it updates itself, on www.steampowered.com you can find more info of the where and abouts

Steam is a little program that eats your bandwith and memory Other then that it will (try) to update you're half-life when possible and sometimes download a game you don't want(like czero).
But you need it for the new hl update(s) and when WON is shut down you need it to connect to an online server aswell.

won servers are servers that provide authentication of youre cd-key. they were set up by valve, kinda of a control of legal keys were used.

I can play with bots on my normal HL, correct?

You can still play online without steam, WON isn't down yet.
And you can play with bots via the 'old' HL and with steam

What about game spy that runs esf pretty well?
but it doesn't update your half-life
