Hello,

I am of course having some trouble with esf otherwise i wouldn't be writing to you guys. I downloaded the esf beta form the esf site. I already had steam and halflife installed. I installed esf. When i try to join a server it makes it to parsing server info and stops, crashes. I have the mod in the correct folder(ive read almost all the threads here) and i spent ..well.. 8 hrs attempting to fix this problem. During that time i downloaded fmod.dll for both alpha and beta and i would get a cl_client .dll error so i removed them and went back to the regular install of all three games. This results in the same problem everytime. I would really love to resolve this. Please respond to this with patience and detail because i know how many people ask similiar questions but i can't seem to find the right thread to help. None of the manuals or stickies seem to fix the problem either, they just kinda go over the same stuff. Any information on this problem would be meet with great joy and enthusiasm. Thank You

ok look... it seems to crash randomely. It may be because of your video settings... right click on desktop -> properties -> settings -> advanced. There play with the OPENGL tab. Make sure in esf you have selected the opengl mode as video.
I hope the esf team figured out why this happend... cause at the beggining when we started moving esf on steam, this problem didn't exist... I think it was a STEAM update that changed something.

ok i know this is dumb but i just said f*** steam and installed it into my halflife folder. From there it was quite easy, and *Dun dah dah Da!* it works.
I am curious however about this opengl thing. I own an nvidia 5200 geforcefx,
amd +1800 processor and tons of ram and disk space. However when i attempt to change video settings in halflife the only option i have is default. This doesnt really matter because it loads and looks fine. Lastly Believe it or not the mod still crashes sometimes, any ideas??
