OK, i'm sure you've all tried this at least once, somebodies (friend or foe) charging a spirit bomb or deathball and you're swinging somebody around and around looking for the nearest wall to throw them into. Suddenly you think 'Hey, i'll throw them into the SB/DB!' of course, once their thrown, they pass harmlessly through the SB/DB and out the other side, which isn't great news if the person charging the SB/DB was a friend.

So I was thinking maybe make the charging sprite (if thats what it is) for these attacks do damage and when touched it explodes, but the explosion doesn't damage the charger. Seeing as only an idiot would willingly fly into one, I don't think this would have any major repercussions on the gameplay (although feel free to prove me wrong) Basically i'm thinking that it does the same damage as it would if it were thrown. Normally this will kill and usually gib straight off which i'm fine with, though if they were to survive then they pass out of the other side. Once somebody touches it, the charge sprite dissapears and the attack must be recharged.

I've been in this situation a couple of times, and i'd really like to see it in. It would also work tactically if somebody on the opposite team is charging one while you're slugging it out with another, you prepunch them and throw them into the SB/DB rather than into the person charging it. Killing them outright AND nullifying the attack. A thinking fighter could take on two people in this way if the situation arose. You could also flank someone and basic melee them into one.

Personally I love nothing more than seeing two blasts slowly floating in the air and tossing some one into them.

esf has to be shamed that an non-member has to say the things that had to be done even in 1.0, it's just an idea that already had to be in.

He meant realistic/accurate to the show, I don't think anyone in these forums is foolish enough to think anything apart from walking around in ESF is realistic. So yeh, just thought I'd clarify that.

Anyways Ravendust, this idea is great, I've been in that situation a few times as well, and it's kinda lame. I really hope this suggestion gets in, it'd make gameplay more interesting/challenging.

Goku not being hurt when his SB destructs while charging is actually kind of true to the show.. towards the end of GT while goku is fighting Omega Shenron, the power of his spirit bomb was an extension of Gokus body.. no attacks from Omega Shenron affected him at all.. if Goku's powerlevel was increased to the level of the SB then why should he be effected by the blast.

well, it is accurate, name one time somone got hurt from their own blast by firing to close? they get ingulfed in their own blast and come out unharmed.

OK deviating a little bit from the topic now, the above stuff is relevant just not here. Maybe make a seperate thread for it.

What I really want are some critz so I can work out ways around them and make it a better suggestion. Although i'm quite happy with the feedback so far. :D

I don't really see anything wrong with it. Since the spirit bomb only hurts evil people it would make sense that nobody on the good team could be hurt by it. Deathball however should effect everyone.

But then it's an unfair advantage to one team, unless the evil team gets an advantage in something too, like Majin Vegeta or something, I don't know.

Maybe have the Spirit Bomb only hurt the OPPOSING team, so you can't team kill with it, and it can't hurt the thrower either. Also if a member of the same team blocks it, it rebounds like Gohan did with the little Spirit Bomb.

Yes good idea but wouldn't you get caught in the impact. For good and evil thing how about good can't die from SBs and evil can't die from DBs. I thought when you melee someone they lose what ever they are charging. Its crazy but might work. Not bad too.

I think this is the best way to do it, regardless of characters. I've often seen a Goku on the evil team, so I don't see why this wouldn't work. Likewise Frieza and his deathball.

Would the idea of throwing people into a ball/bomb be able to work though? I've never tried to program or anything and know nothing about it, so it's a genuine question. Would it work just like someone flying into a ps epicentre?

Exactly like that, or to be put even simpler, it would be like flying into a newly-thrown spirit bomb, except for it just hasn't been thrown yet.

It should be possible, it would just need to change a little code in the way Spirit Bombs are created i.e, the bomb charged is a bomb and not a charge sprite. so you take damage from it and don't just pass through it like with normal charge sprites.

And while appreciate the enthusiasm for the thread, can you end the 'Spirit Bomb/Deathball only hurting specific teams' idea now, or create a seperate thread for it, I don't want this thread to go off topic and then get closed.
