Meh, Americans.
Way to insult America. If you actually watched the video and read about the bill instead of thinking that you're hilarious and cool and hipster-like by using a genuine insult, you'd know that this would affect other countries.

If this bill passes (which is very unlikely), I'm sure other countries outside of America will follow, as well. This is just as important for other countries, possibly even more for them.

Wow, I didn't know that was an insult. Sorry, Americans.

Lack of seriousness was expected, but not in the second post. This is bigger than america.

If what totalbuisquit is saying is true, then the entire internet would turn into a nazi police state.

i think sopa is absolutely ridiculous .... it really is going to give too much control to the government .... the ability to keep you from accessing certain sites is not something that should be taken lightly .... and trusting government officials with that is ridiculous .... i know some guy that worked for the CIA and with his clearance he was able to access people's psychological files .... therapist files and people's record of anyone he knew .... being able to do that is against hte law entirely even for any federal organization .... something they do as if they were reading hte morning newspaper .... and now they are trying to give these guys the rights over what we can see and hear .... that's overpowering

Capitalism at its worst. This way big companies can keep away other small companies from advertising, just like the video Grega posted says.

Yeah, I made two threads about this Grega, and you posted in them, but it's the first you're hearing of it? Wow. :p

America has actually laid claim to the moon; and if you consider any of the current countries to actually well, own their land, then yes, the U.S owns the moon.

This is actually F'ed up, scary at the least. Hopefully this doesn't go through, but I wouldn't be surprised if it did. The american government isn't known for it's great decision making. Hence having a free market based economy and being the big defender of capitalism, things like these come up from time to time. I don't like lobbyist groups :/ and there are too many of them in the US.

On another note, I loooove Totalbiscuit! :D WTF is... is so good.

Thats the first i hear of that.

@Mkil SOPA is the new attempt after the IPsomething something. I cant remember those acronyms.
No, my original topic was bout SOPA. Alot of the backers, well, backed out, so it lost alot of sway. NVIDIA, Intel, Microsoft, ectera, were all backing it, but then are now opposed to it...so they lost alot of support. They did block people from arguing against it though, which is rough.

Get off my couch
Australia tried to pass a forced internet filter legislation which failed horribly.
