Final Fantasy 6's haunting main theme kicked my ass. So did Ninja Gaiden 1&2 for the nes. Chrono Trigger was also excellent. Super Metroid was another fav.

Of the few SNES games I've played & actually enjoyed, Chrono Trigger, Super Metroid and Donkey Kong Country all stand out brilliantly in terms of music. I especially love the music at the start of Super Metroid, when you're running for your life trying to get off the station before it self-destructs.

By the way, shouldn't this thread be moved to the Video Games forum?

Well best game music ever is the FFIX Black Mage Village song, but on SNES itd have to be the music in Super Mario World.
