Is it just me or does all the old game music just rock?

I love all the mario, mario kart, tales of phantasia, and megaman music - they're classic to me!

Does anyone else have favourite game music from the olden days?

Oh god yes. About everything from Chrono Trigger, best ones would be the Zeal theme and Frog's theme. Now that I think about it I could just as well put every single music piece in there, man that game rocked.

Mega Man (t3h pwnage techno-ish stuff) on the NES

Of course, all Mario games have had addictive music, as have the Legend of Zelda games =]

Most RPGs had good music. I particularly liked Lufia 2's boss battle music. Then the music for the sinistral fights was even better. and if I remember right, the music to the dungeon before the sinistrals and after the sinistrals was also good.

I also liked the music played during the boss battles of the 3rd and I think either 5th or 6th levels of Yoshi's Island.

Forfeit Island has lots of the good Lufia 2 songs. Check out their arrangement of the Sinistral battle. It owns. =)

SNES owns you all. Hard to beat a few old favorites like Rainbow Road (Mario Kart), Zeal, To far away times, Magus' Theme (Chrono Trigger), The opening sequence to FF6 (When they're walking on the snowy fields), etc.

ocremix.org is a good place to get remixxed mp3s. Also, if you've got winamp, get the SPC plugin for it. At least I think it's cool to promote the downloading of SPCs. If it isn't kick me around, delete this message, and I'll repost saying not to.
