Minimum six, I just can't function on less than six, my brain doesn't want to move (it's hard enough on regular sleep for me to sift through all the crap in my head). Since I'm more or less a vagabond with few responsibilities I can sleep however long I want to when I want to. So there are days when I will take out a 10 hour night. It's really quite bad.

Varies. Normally I sleep 10 til 8 but sometimes I forget to get up and find myself up at 3pm. There's also the time I didn't sleep at all.

Since I work out and I try to get 9 hours of sleep a night. Got to make sure I get that level 3 sleep or whatever it's called in order for your body to heal and grow.

Sometimes I party and get less sleep then I'd like.
REM sleep? I usually try to get 8, over the years though I've tested my limits quite a bit. I can't function with less than 4, getting more than 9 usually makes me feel more tried and I've pulled many all-nighters but i could only last until about 3pm the next day.

Speaking of sleep, generally speaking if you're not going to get more than 2-3 hours of sleep it's not worth sleeping at all. Power naps work up to 45 minutes, but that's usually how long it takes for the body to shut down, waking up right after will cause more stress on your body than if you never went to sleep in the first place..

General topic to talk about sleep.

How much sleep do you guys usually get a night?
You guys ever pull an all nighter, not going to sleep till the next night?

As for myself, my sleeping patterns are all over the place. I'm think I'm like an insomniac, I never want to go to sleep when I'm awake, but when I finally do, I never want to wake up / have an extremely hard time waking up. On average I'd say I probably get like 7 hours a night
I'm exactly the same.

Also when its a day where I have to do something, like going to work, i have a real hard time waking up.

Actually yeah. I dreamed last night, it was great. I even woke up without my usual headache from oversleeping (I don't set an alarm, **** it).

During the week I sleep about 4-5 hours, during the weekends 7-8 hours.

Been doing that for 6 years now and I actually feel better than when I had 10+ hours of sleep each day.

If I sleep longer than about 9 hours, I really never can get out of bed. I'm even more tired than when I slept ~4 hours.
And I rather stay awake than sleep for less than 3 hours.

For me, sleep breaks down like this:

Minimum: 6 hours
Average: 8 hours
Ideal: 10 hours

Assuming I'm not working or not taking classes, my schedule is cylical. I will stay up later and later each night, waking up later than the previous day. Eventually my schedule will be reversed completely and I'll wake up at night, and eventually it'll go back to normal.

But since I have to work, my schedule is fairly normal. But my problem is that in order to get 8-10 hours of sleep for work, I have to go to bed earlier than I actually feel tired. So I only actually get around 6 hours of sleep during the week, and I suffer because of it.
