What I do is, Duplicate the layer, Filter>Blur>Gaussian Blur, 3.0, set layer to Hard Light.

told ya he did that with blending modes , but there is actually an easier way to do that without having to make that second layer

first do the gaussian blur, then go to edit>fade gaussian blur, does exactly the same, except its a bit easier and faster (imo)

i would go for the second one, the blending looks alot nicer on that one, though, i would try to seek for some blending tutorials if i were you, the blending of the pics arent the greatest
