the first one is, which ports must i open for ESF, or HL?
I need the TCP and UDP.
Please Help

Yea, i suppose. Dedicated also possible, and the only reason why the "other" person couldn't or still can't find the server is because the ports are closed. Which blocks people from joining your server.

6. go to port range forwarding and add a new entry:

name: hlserver
from: 27015
to: 27015
check TCP
check UDP
destination: 192.168.1.100
enable

Then i am afraid those person that told it, or where you have read it is so wrong. How stupid can you be? After forwarding / opening the ports it should work right away, some routers need to be rebooted to take effect, but that only takes less then a min.

Since those ports i have found on the forums, and the link how to open ports ^_^

unix/bsd/linux: `netstat -an | grep LISTEN`
windows: start->run->`cmd`->`netstat -a`

... will only show HLDS listening on 1 port (per instance)

Don't open ports you don't need to, unless you want your gibson hacked. There's no e-wang bonus for having 30 ports open if they aren't needed-.-
