server trouble

When i make a server i cant pick the password, name, or max players. I use steam.

Why not?

Why not?

because you are using steam and it starts a lan game.

To make it on the net for real do these steps!

1. Start A Lan Game With Your Settings!
2. When the game starts type in the console sv_lan 0
3. Then after that in the console type restart
and then duh duh you have a server on the net!

However
I don't know how to set the max players or how to set the name sorry man I hope what little i contributed helps!

In console if you type restart, it will restart the server.
