Sailor Moon or Cowboy Bebop?!

Are we talking about the original power rangers or this power ranger ninja storm in outer space time stuff? Because I hold the originals about as high as I hold DBZ. The others sucked much more tho.

sailor moon = group of girls who freak out over guys, walk around like their "all" natural blondes and constantly get tricked. till they "finally" figure out the situation. then they power up, transform, or release magical stuff. the mysterious bad guy dies and thats basically the locomotion of plot with this one

Cowboy Bebop - interesting storyline, its my favorite anime, and bounty hunters pwn. what some people will do for money aye? it has futuristic scenery and space travel. gun battles and crazy looking enemies/bounties.

my point is the plot "actually" develops, instead of recycling the same system of situational humor and action.

Cowboy Bebop had about 19 episodes where basically the same thing happened. They found a bounty, they chase the bounty, situational humor ensues. In those other seven episodes they tried something different, like an epic battle, or a bunch of flashbacks, or they'd spend roughly an episode per character (minus Ed/Ein) to develop their backgrounds for the audience. Every time they wanted to work on a character's background, somehow, mystically magically, something would happen that would allow them to tell more of the story. Wow, they caught the guy that was conning Faye the same episode she decides to tell... get this... the dog! That isn't situational? They could have at least been more sly about it. Same goes for Jet. Spike's story was more obscure.

In fact, it was so much more obscure that they never explained it all the way. They don't explain anything about the syndicate, or why he used to work with Vicious, or any of that. All you know is that Vicious wanted Julia to kill Spike, and then he kills Julia, so Spike has that final epic battle that ends the series. That's a good way to go, because otherwise they would have had to explain a little about what happened to any of the major characters after Spike passed on, as though Spike was the only major character.

Don't pretend CB was perfect, because it wasn't. Don't let your eyes be glazed over by the fact that it used twice as many frames of animation as the average anime series and had something like 4 tiny martial arts sequences (minus the movie). Now that doesn't mean CB wasn't a good show. It's one of my favorites; I treat it like FF3, every time I watch it I pick up something new. But it isn't perfect. "Futuristic scenery" and "space travel" you say, as though we haven't seen that ever before. Even Tenchi Muyo had that. Cowboy Bebop was great, but you certainly can't say it was more original than Sailor Moon, not by any measure of the imagination. What it did have was good fighting, good dialog, and some good character development, even though it wasn't exactly complete development in my opinion.

You hear that, Hito? Care to defend your series? Too afraid to take me on mano a mano in the fight club to settle it that way? I'm still waiting.

Why you ask meh? that would be a little bit hard to explain, because there is a lot to tell about Cowboy Bebop that I like but I will keep it short :]

Well the story is good and has a lot of variation in it. It isn't only about Bounty hunters it mainly about the hunting yes, but when hunting the bouties the main story continues.
The variation is because when he hunts a bigger bounty there is a story behind the bounty and some of those stories aid in his main 'quest'. Enough about the story or I would be spoiling stuff.

The other thing that I like about it is that the 'serious' story seems not that serious because of the characters.
Take Spike he is verry relaxed and takes almost everything verry lightly because of that it makes him ...cool. That and the 'Jazz' music :]. I like Jazz music combined with the fighting scenes that are intense and realistic (most of the time :smile
The styles of the fighting scenes are good because of the variation of guns and kung-fo style fighting.

Well I agree with Sonic Boyster that Cowboy Bebop isn't 'complete' but that doesn't matters to me. I don't think it is a shame. Beacause if they went more in-depth and 'completed' the serie maybe it would turn out better, or maybe bad..... we will never know.

I think the story is good enough and detailed enough. The parts they didn't do are the parts where your fantasy comes in and fills that in :].
I mean it doesn't really matters does it? Those parts could be filled, but they didn't, that makes it more... special.... because then you can think about it :]

I dont think this is a fair poll :\ I love Sailor Moon, but Cowboy Bebop slaps it around
when it comes to action.

EDIT: Has anyone here seen the "Cowboy Bebop - FAILED EXPERIMENTS" Video?
Its a video containing clips of someone trying out diffrent things on creating a
bebop music video, dont worry though its not a video where you see a stupid
mouse moving around a program and some guy explaining things on how his Music
Videos failed, its kinda comedic and most of the clips on failed music videos shown
are pretty cool. One is with Gospel in it. Even though im not a fan of Gospel it made
it look GOOD.
