Rates

I guess this belongs here , guys i accidently changed the rates on my hl/esf
so i wanted to ask what are the default rates , and what is the best rate , if there is one

in case u didnt understand what rates im talking about , im talking about
"rate " , "cl_cmdrate" , "cl_updaterate "

Actually it probably should be in Help but it's fine by me. The rate cable/dsl users would use is 10000, the others I'll look up when I wake up in the morning... you can probably find them in a tutorial if you just google one.

well.
if you're on cable/dsl i'd personally use a rate of 14000, possibly even 20,000

cl_updaterate and cl_cmdrate should be about 60

cl_cmdrate should be set close to 60 or whatever the highest steady framerate you get in game is if you're on a cable or dsl connection. Cl_updaterate is something you should fool around with.. in Quake 3 I think the default was 20 but 40 ran smoother. Pick a number that works well for you.
