Radeon HD2900XT Benchmarks - Dissapointing

I was really excited about AMD's latest offering, but after seeing the first benchmarks and review I felt incrediably let down, as I was planning on building a new rig with a HD2900XT at it's core. I'm really hoping they'll withdraw and improve it, or make some better drivers to unlock it's real power (see - Company of Heroes).

It's painful to see AMD's 'ace in the hole' being matched by Nvidia's 8800GTS and beaten by the 8800GTX. After all this time I was expecting AMD/ATI to reclaim a little glory.

With 8800s in ready supply, and with performance besting the 1GB beast, any SI going with the high-end Radeon will be purely in it for novelty and/or fanboy value.
