Well, it has better hardware.

Also, lots of good games coming this year ( such as Metal Gear Solid 4 ).

$800? It's like half that. >_>

PS3 + GTA IV = $450 dollars, or close.

Cell processor. The key to victory in the console war.
It really is amazing how effective Sony's hype has been about the magical "Cell processor." It's not a revolutionary, historic CPU--can you imagine Intel or AMD fanboys (presumably, people who have knowledge about CPUs in general) raving about a CPU designed/released 2+ years ago? An eternity in microprocessor manufacturing.

Especially considering the CPU really takes the backburner to the GPU, though both are important--as anyone who's ever built or significantly upgraded a gaming PC can tell you.

It's just kind of silly to talk about a component rather than a feature. What do people remember about the PS2 besides games? The fact that it played DVDs--not the fact that it had something called "the Emotion Engine" in it. What will people remember about PS3? Probably the fact it plays Blu-Ray.

True, but you can't compare this to a gaming PC. The PS3 is not only an entertainment medium, but a new development standard. Sure, it's not brand new technology, but it's damn well brand new inside of my console, and it's going to completely dominate as a console when developers kick it into high gear and start pooping out games designed to work with it. The component is the means to the feature. So I'm more concerned with the component.

The guy behind the MGS series basically said the Cell processor isn't what it's cracked up to be, and as a result of its less than stellar performance, MGS4 won't be as great as he had hoped. Take that however you'd like, but, while the PS3 is probably slightly technologically superior to the 360, it isn't so much more powerful that it can blow the 360 out of water.

That's just my take on it.

Depends. The 360 has a somewhat more powerful GPU than the PS3. The PS3 has a somewhat more powerful CPU than the 360.

In my experience, it's much more about the GPU than CPU--and like I said.. anyone who's ever built a machine for gaming will tell you the same.

In any case, I've looked at both multiplatforms (Devil May Cry 4, Assassin's Creed, GTA IV, Call of Duty 4, etc) and console exclusives (Viva Pinata, Gears of War and Heavenly Sword, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune) and I really don't see that one console has a graphical advantage over the other.

If you concentrate on what it is--a gaming machine--then I see the better games for 360.

I prefer the 360 over the PS3 for that reason, but I don't like not knowing if or when I'm going to get the RROD. I'm forcing myself to play GTA IV an hour at a time to lessen the chances of that happening, but it still scares me. Then again, the PS3 seems to have problems as well, especially concerning the hdd, so at least it's not like I chose the lesser of the two systems.

Let me pull out my list....

GTA IV
Call of Duty 4
Metal Gear Solid 4
Metal Gear ONline (I heard that's good.)
Resistance 1
Resistance 2
Kingdom Hearts 3 (When it EVENTUALLY comes out.)

There's a couple more, but I cannot think of anything else.

I'd also like to note that the PS3 is starting to get some very enjoyable downloadable games, too, such as Super Stardust HD, Echochrome, WarHawk, etc.

There hasn't been any confirmation or mentioning of this game by the creators.

People on the internet just want the game to be released eventually.

i must say i like it, especially of what its capable of, eg blueray, able to play data discs and allthe interface is also pretty along with the console itself( my opinion ), allthough i prefer the xbox360 for gaming, i hate the online system for ps3 i mean i prefer to pick a server to join instead of it joining any random server where i lag
