Not on your first time you can't.

I finished it in one sitting of around 3-4 hours, but thats just me. My friends still wonder how I was able to do it so fast. It took them many many hours.

The time it takes depend on the person. I like interactive puzzles which use my noggin so it came naturally to me, does not need to be same for others.

I finished it in a little under 1 hour and 30 minutes my first time round. Portal 1 is really short.

What I am trying to say here is, everyone plays at their own speed. Just because a dude can do a speedrun 10 minutes does not mean the game lasts for 10 mins. Portal is a puzzle game, its meat lies in figuring out the solution to the puzzles using the rules provided by the game. For people used to gaming, they can easily adapt to the possibilities but still have trouble grasping them fully. For others, they have to figure out both the solution of the puzzle and the act of solving it at the same time.

Portal's power lies in the experience it provides. Time taken is secondary.

Hah, i bought it for Xbox360 and PC, and now it's free.

Apparently you can, at the cost of ruining the atmosphere of the entire game. Although I doubt anyone will be able to do it the first time.

Well, it looks like it's completable that quickly using a lot of exploits and glitches . Whilst very short, I finished it in a similar time to Grega, I thoroughly enjoyed the puzzles and the dialogue. Remember, it was originally a small part of the Orange Box, so it was never meant to be a full length title.
