Please help with ECX

V. 1.2.3 of ESF
Trying to run ECX and Big Pack
Installing into Half-Life
Video Mode in use OpenGL

Ok, i have Esf123, Ecx, and big pack installed. I have been working for 3 days straight trying to figure out why my ECX Class Selection screen does not come up. Its just the regular ESF screen with just a few characters. In the whole 3 days, its worked correctly once but when i quit the game to put in the esf_powerlevel_changer.amxx it no longer worked. I also get an error message saying:

Couldn't get DLL API from . . . esf/addons/metamod/dlls/metamod.dll!

I have read every post in this forum referring to this issue and i have tried everything that i can think of. Reinstalled everything at least 15, times. Can someone please help me?

You preety much dissabled ECX by adding the powerlevel changer.

Reinstall is your best choice.

I have completely reinstalled Steam, Half-life, Esf, Ecx, and big pack numerous times.

I think it has something to do with the error message.
When i install Ecx should i uncheck the server box? That takes care of server issues and doesnt install the addons folder or the core folder, but it still doesn't allow me to arrive at the Ecx class selection screen.

This is exactly what is says in my Console when i try to create a server . . .

The server IS ECX.

The client are only sprites, models and sounds. Without the server files you can only join ECX games but not create your own.

As said the issue is that you removed ECX by installing the PL changer pluggin. You probably installed AMXX which in term overwrote the AMXX that comes with ECX hence why you dissabled it.

Steam hack?? its genuine. I went to the actual Steam site http://store.steampowered.com/ and downloaded it.

I have tried without the pl changer and the big pack. Installing only ESF 1.2.3. and ECX. it still does not work.
I have tried with and without the server box checked and i have pretty much given up on trying to use the pl changer. I just want ecx to work.

So the previous console material that i posted was with esf and ecx installed with the server box checked.

When i have the server box unchecked i can create a server but when i have it checked i cant, it starts to load up but then it stops and just goes back to the menu screen. Thats with the LAN box checked and unchecked both.

If you so much as even start STEAM it will update to protocol 48. Yet you have 47. How about a picture of your STEAM games library for proof of legality. Since we only support those who own Half Life legaly.

Friend, check if you have installed AMXMOD X, cuz your metamod.dll may be just "confuse" because of two installations of amxmod X.
Since ECX uses some of amxmod X tech.
Also makes no sense, protocol 47, with exe 1.1.2.0...
exe on won and non-steams are 1.1.1.0. (ask me how i know?)

EXE 1.1.1.0 uses protocol 46.

Protocol 47 is an old STEAM protocol that's only accessible with STEAM Hacks. As said the moment you install and start STEAM you get protocol 48 which is the newest.

i have the actual discs for half life. Im not downloading it from steam
is that an issue? do i have to actually buy it, again, from steam?
If so i'll just get it next week.

Not in a million miliseconds.
All you have to do is get your CD KEYS inside your box/disc cap or whatever you used to validate your original copy, then create a steam account, if you already have one you just have to add a game, then you type your cdkey in the screen, TADA..... you got full update half life from steam, you can download updates or the game itself from steam. Also you get support.
