PLEASE HELP ME I CAN'T PLAY ESF :(

When i start ESF i got an error:
Could not open bitmap file gfx/shell/btns_main.bmp

what can i do help me please:cry:

go in to your esf folder look for gfx open that then open shell and look for that bmp file if its not there thats the problem

Yes i'm using it..
And it give me a error (it's in dutch so Nno SS this time)
It tells me it has a contabilatieproblem ore something?
So i can press avtivate try again ore details
so i press activate and then i get the BMP error

By the path to the folder, seems like you aren't using a legal copy of steam to me.

You are not using STEAM to run the game.

That picture you posted has the wrong format for STEAM. STEM has a green window with white text.

Not to mention the files in thre are not even used in the STEAM version of the game.

Making a shortcut of Half Life in STEAM is the same as making a shortcut of half life on the desktop. You are not using STEAM.

You only use STEAM once a game is BOUND to your account. And you can only do that by either buying the game directly from STEAM or registering the games CD-key with STEAM itself.

Unless you did either of those steps you are not using STEAM to play Half Life.

And if you still say you are using STEAM then tell me why you have the red icon for Half Life. STEAM doesnt use that icon.

You need to buy Half Life 1 through Steam or register a valid Half Life 1 CD-Key.

Then when you download ESF, install it to C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\<username>\half life

Then ESF will work.
