Please help cant play esf

I'm not sure y. But i can't play esf anymore. I try to connect to a server and in the top left corner it says loading then the word start flashing. Then the game just stays like that until i hit esc. but heres the weird part, once i hit esc i can see everything, then i hit it again to play and everything bugs out. I kno that explanation is a little hard to explain. Maybe its because i dont have 1.2.3, i cant download off esf world so could sum1 send me a link to sumwhere esle.

Are you using WON or Steam? because WON (Half-Life's Default multiplayer connection) is dead. If you dont have steam then download it here: www.steampowered.com

the download is a pop up so u only have to deactivate ur pop up blocker or firewall(they sometimes block popups/ads). and if u think "hmm but the pop up comes" yeah this could be but the download is a pop up in the pop up ;-)

No i have steam, ive been playin esf for awhile now this just started happening and i don't know what it is.
