people take this game way to seriously

I was just in an esf server where half the people there were being asses. Mocking newbs, throwing insults at each other, triple teaming, hitting while transforming. There were 2 guys that just looked at each other while blocking because that is the easisest way to melee(for them at least). If it was a dirty move, they did it. I just wonder what motivates people to do things like that. To me, a bigger challenge is more fun

So what bothers you the most about the way some people play?

In any game you play there is always people that take the game way too seriously and act ridiculous. *cough* Counter-Strike *cough*

You just either leave or put up with it. Not much else can be done.

i also hate when people start to whine about how unbalanced this game is and how melee sucks.

the game is pretty balanced, i can kill people with one character as easily as any other. and the melee after practicing for a while, you get very used to it and start using beams less. I think it takes more skill fight with melee than just beams...

Ignorance is varied in many different ways lol. All you hear with some people are "You suxx0rs!" "You n00b!" "Your so ***! Quit doing that!" All they do is look for a fight out of the game as well.

Now I did something that actually did work lol, this guy was extremely pissed off. He was a very skilled fighter, but fought out of pure anger and insults. When he defeated me he said the "owned" remark. Instead of countering or ignoring his rude comment I simply replied with. "Nice one."

Guess what? It was pretty interesting, for once I actually heard a non-malice phrase from him. He said slowly but surely "... thanks."

Some people are just used to getting their ass kicked by higher ups, then when they finally do the ass kicking they want to feel proud by taunting their targets. If you just yell back they will keep beating you and rubbing it in. If you beat them they will just get angrier and keep following you the whole game. My best strategy is instead of leaving or ignoring, I just compliment them on their fighting and apologize if I have ever insulted them with any phrases. It may seem like wimping out but it calms the game down ALOT. I made lots of friends out of people who were once my enemies, lol you just need to keep a cool head and try to understand some people come on to play because they are pissed off.. and not to just have fun. If you calm them down then they act like their normal selves.

Not everyone is always a badguy, we can all be asses sometimes *smiles*. Just gotta understand and nod. Or just nod and pretend to understand lol.

wanting to play good is different then insulting...ive encountered a lot of ppl who think they are better people (not just in esf) and it really gets to me. this also take the fun away from the other ppl playing.

dont get me wrong wanting to play hard/good/serious is great but dont go off braging and name calling.

Usaslly when I play I talk up a storm. Anyways, thats the whole reason I dont use the talk key much.It takes away the time I have to play.Every second counts in this game; I want to enjoy every minute of it.Out of the whole time I've played Beta, I've only lost my temper once.It was because of a damn block spammer.All he did was block and block some more and countered.Finally, I lost it and called him some names which wasn't like me at all. I didn't get to carried away, I just told him what annoyed me.

Anyone trashing noobs and sitting around blocking, trans meleeing obviously cant handle a good player if thats all they can do. I say just kick them (if its your server) or get outta the server, or if your one of those people who knows all the little anti spammer tricks, Kick Their Ass and laugh at them

Leaving the server sounds good, I think I will try that.

It's hard to imagine V` getting mad at all....I don't know if he remembers, but he swatted my ass all over the place on night(on 2 different servers), and I consider myself pretty good at melee. Don't know what he does but it works.

I had a few ppl once 2.. I was playing on a internet buddy's server. Then they all started to nag that "I shouldn't melee spam"

They thought they could command me since the buddy was from clan STAR. And they we're aswell..

So they kept nagging... To bad I got bored of it.

Hey man you know im one of those ppl who bag out ppl and show off in the esf servers lol. Remeber you were spectating and i said hey come on and we chalanged each other in the ring in city. And they watched us lol. And the ones that interfered i teased lol.

I know what you mean, someone was frieza, and was laser beaming everyone, so a few of us starting to melee him and he kept asking us why we were using melee..we just said cause its a big part of the game, its good etc.. and he carried on playing. Then he asked me why i used it, at this time i was gohan non-ssj and i couldnt use my powerbeam so i said cause i have no decent attacks atm and went to melee with the host. Then he asked the host to kick me and i said but the host is meleeing too, and he replied no he isnt. Then a message at the top of the screen came up saying "host killed dan with melee" (me = dan) and i got booted.

If the host is giving you gas just run for your life. For all you know he'll slap your config around because he doesn't like one of the attacks you use. If he boots somebody else in the room that you know doesn't deserve the boot, he's probably going to come after somebody else he doesn't like next. Besides, an empty room is an unhappy admin, so strike back by just getting out of there.

Personally (and this is just me tooting my horn) I've only run into a few people who can beat me consistently (or most of the time anyway), either with beams or melee, and that number is dwindling. 99 / 100 times, the guy insulting and mocking me is not as good as I am, so I don't have a problem being light hearted or gently sarcastic back to them. You know the drill...

You know... after pulling an act like that for a while the guy gets hopelessly confused and gives up. It's always fun to watch him run out of things to say and then start insulting my playing style.

The other thing I do is just beat them... over... and over... and over and over and over and over and over. Most of you foolios out there get off about 1 kill over 12 deaths with me. If you're lucky it's more like 3 to 2, but I come out on top almost every time. And you're right, they will chase you around for the rest of the game because they're angry, but if they can't beat you, they can't brag. Oh, they'll resort to something else, like saying "it must suck not having any friends" or "at least i don't live on this game," but it's just because they've been so soundly defeated that they have lost all previous bragging rights. I'd say it's the easiest and the most fun revenge you can have against a weaker player who is really getting on your nerves.

fortunately I never had that in ESF. but indeed in HL I had bad servers who messed my config up.. took me a while each time to repair it.

what i hate is the people who think because they r good at a computer game, that makes them a good fighter in real life, like i suck at esf, ill admit it cause i hardly ever play it, and when i get kicked around they r all like "daaaaaamn u got hit!" and im like yup good job, then they say "dont feel bad, im a really good fighter," and i say what do u mean by fighter? all were doin is hitting the keyboard with our fingers, what does that have to do with fighting? and then the guy gets all pissed off for some reason, its happened like 10 times to me
