Pentium M Question.

Heres a question for ya, (Been looking around, havent found an answer).
I have an Acer Aspire 1680 Laptop.
Features:
Pentium M @ 1.6ghz
Radeon 9700Pro Mobility (128Mb).
1024Mb of Ram.
I was wondering, are the new Core 2 based processors pin compatible with
the Pentium M?
The chip set is the Intel 855GM/GME/PM/GMV.
I was thinking of buying a new processor to drop in there.
One that had similar heat characteristics as my current processor of course.
(The fan only turns on, once every 10 or so minuets, even in 38 Degrees Celsius heat).
Had a go at over clocking my card, And also over clocked the processor to 2.4Ghz And managed to get a 3D Mark 2001 score of 16k.
Mind you the fan was going nuts... Never turned off.
Just would like something a little bit cooler, and faster.
Any help would be appreciated!

Memrom is not compatible with the 855 based chipsets. You can find this information on intel's site.

In that case, What was the highest compatible processor for the 855 chip set?
I'm doing some googling, to see if its possible to upgrade the Radeon 9700pro.
So far not allot of luck, When I opened the laptop, The Radeon was like a processor, and that I could pull it out of the socket.
Which made me wonder if I could upgrade it?
I upgraded the RAM, that was rather easy.
The laptop cost me about 4 grand, early last year. So its had a good run!

EDIT: Got the new Pentium M processor, Dothan, 2Mb cache, 2.26Ghz, 533Mhz FSB.
I know the board can handle 533mhz (Using clock gen you can upp it to 533mhz).
So now I'm waiting for the processor to be sent to me from the states.
Cost me 270 bucks.
Its not dual core, But the performance should be rather noticeable in newer games

I assume then your mobile 9700 may be using the mxm standard, which should allow you to easily upgrade your gpu. Do some research on it though just to make sure you can upgrade it.

Indeed it is using the MXM standard, got a Radeon Mobility 9800 being shipped
And because my DVD burner shat itself got a new one on the way also. (Love christmas! Allways get handouts from the family ) Will post a 3D mark bench when its all operational!
