Opengl problems

I always played ESForces without any problems on opengl mode.
Till now.
I reinstalled half life and ESforces.
But when i started playing ESF, i couldn't see the aura or explosions of beams.
And i can't see the charging dots of the spirit bomb.
I think it has something too do with half life.
So i reinstalled it like 10 times but still no result.
Downloaded the latest version of DirectX (9).
Still has the same bug.
Im desperate, does somebody has this problem 2.

Just switch to direct3d and start a game and then switch back to opengl that fixes the bug

I did that but no success.
The changing too 3dmode part worked.
But if im ingame and i go out and select opengl, and when i go ingame again, then it wouldn't connect.
then i joined another game again but still nno aura or explosion visible, only on direct3d mode.
please help

I reinstalled esf again and half life but it still didn't work.
Then i played counterstrike, i saw somethings was wrong.
Like i was cheating or something.
Because in all dark places, it isn't dark anymore.
But i know its dark because my weapon was darker.
Can somebody help me

most liekly your gamma settings in HL

and as for the auras not showing

Multiplayer > Customize > Advanced

Then over there you have to set one of the options to either Low,Medium or High....I think it was details....

Thanks Alot, now i messed up even more things.
I reinstalled again, but i still can't see the aura or explosions, and some maps are brighter then they used too be.
Please im clueless :cry:

Put this command into the Console: "cl_fxquality 3"

that should fix it.

Ok, well it sounds like it's your video card needs to be updated or re-installed. Get new drivers, install them ( if there arent new ones, re-install the ones you have) Uninstall Half-Life or CS completley, after uninstalling it, make sure to delete the actual folder that you have it in. Re-install CS freshly and ESF freshly, if that doesn't work.. you need a new video card buddy.

ok im still trying what you said but it did work fine with my videocard the last 9 months.
I have a Geforce 4 MX420 128mb.
And it supports opengl.

i would go the extreme uninstall everythign to do with halflife then reinstall halflife and the other mods and then try hopefull it should work... i had to do that when i got DoD it was a real *****

if this dosnt work redownlaod the latest directx driver and your latest graphics crad driver and iveride your previous settings...

if none of this works and u realy realy have to play esf u could go to the next extrem and format yer hd but i wouldnt recomend it unless other games are experiancing the same probs
