Now that Im using a different computer I can't run Open GL with ESF. When the connection screen comes up it gets all messed up. one side is purple and other is all these scriggily lines.

i need to know if its what the computer doesn't have or is it the computer itself?

Hmm when the video card doesn't support it it won't start up at all, i suggest first to get the latest drivers if you don't have it.

otherwise it could be the computer it self, mostly old pc's don't like openGL.

It could also be your graphics card. Have you tried the following?

* Updating your graphics card drivers with the latest ones (Do this properly and only if you know what you're doing)
* Installing the latest version of Direct X after installing your Gfx card drivers.
* Switching to different video modes in HL/ESF, running under stable resolutions.
