OMG CD-Key

I paid for my HL in the store and have had it for a year now. I was able to play fine on Won a year ago. BUT now I tried to log-on and it says my CD-Key is in use already WTF? Wtf am I supposed to do? I don't see a email address on the steam site. What am I suppossed to do when some one got lucky with a random keygen and got mine? I was able to play yesterday but today I got this message when I tried to log-on steam "You cd-key is invalid because another account has it." Blah, I'm not paying for HL twice!

Help. Someone give me link to steam email or phone number. Any help will be appreciated. THX

well what you said cannot happen with steam - are you using that?
If you're not, then it could be because WON is dead and does not work anymore - its been like that for some time!
You have to register a cdkey to an account with steam, and this is a once-only process - it is impossible for it to work one day and not the next.

Well, it did happen. I just starting playing again yesterday and put in my cd-key, it said something about it was evaluating my cd-key but it would still allow me to play online, until farther notice. Then today I can't log-on because the key is on another account so its invalid.

And yes of course I'm using steam.

i believe that error about valuating your cdkey said you could play offline until they register your key - well it did that with half life 2 at least.

Yeah I read that link, and No i'm not paying again. I'll just annoy them with emails and phone calls until they get their **** together because I'm not happy with their service right now. I'll hope its just a little error that will be cleared after today. *Sigh* what a waste of time. Thx for your quick reply.

if your going to complain to make them give you a new cd key your most likeley not going to get anything but your email address blocked,

somebody else has your cd key, another player and is using it, not steam or valve, its not thier error

Some Keys Double Printed by Sierra/VUGames
Unfortunately, Sierra (not Valve) double printed some CDKeys. Only Sierra knows which CDKeys were duplicated.

VUGames is the parent company of Sierra - the publishers of the games, and printer of the CDKeys. They are a different company from Valve.

If you purchased your Game more then 90 days ago, you will be unable to get a free replacement from Sierra/VUGames if you have a duplicate CDKey.

Only Two Choices
Your only two options at this point are to send in your physical CDKey to Valve to be reset or to purchase a replacement Game.

Now who's fault is that. I'm sure you would be pissed to, if the same thing happened to you. The worst thing about it, is that they actually want more of my money to retrieve my cd-key I already paid for.

I'm not even sure someone else has my key now, because I type the key in to verify which email it is set to and it was send to my email. But get this, when I log-on to steam I tells me another account has the key WTF? Unless the email was send to two people. I don't get it, becasue I was just told thats impossible.

This is was I think of STEAM :no: :no: ESF is great though, ah well.

Just send them your CD-key to be reset man. That's all you have to do. It's a little mistake that they made. And yeah, it's probably annoying.

I'm having a similar problem. I am unable to login to steam account. what the hell. when i try to login it says that my account doesn't exist or that my password has changed. i've taken a 1 month break from gaming and now i come back and i see this crap. i have not changed my userid/password. i sent valve multiple emails and they never respond. looks like the only way to fix this is to buy the game a second time

Ok it costs 3 burgers 3x3$=9$, thats how much it costs here. Happy now.
As you would have seen i suppose buying the game is the final resort solution. I dought you care about that anyway. Diggin up a dead thread and adding spam to it because i have posted in it is... pathetic, at least.
