An OGM file is a Ogg Media File. Unlike typical avi's, OGM's have the capability to support multiple audio and video tracks. So you can switch video and audio content both, example: switching between English and Japanese Audio. You may also embed extra features like subtitles and extra information into OGM files without the need of a seperate subtitle script file.

There are many players which suppport the playback of OGM's, such as Media Player Classic, BSPlayer, etc. Google these terms to look for where to download them. I believe ordinary WMP and Winamp should also be able to play these formats if you have the necessary codecs installed which will allow these players to decode all tracks available inside that particular .ogm file which you are trying to watch.

Universally, a standard recommendation would be to install the following:
- XviD Codec
- Subtitle Filter (you don't need this if you have Media Player Classic)
- DirectVobSub
- Directshow Filter (OGG)

Wait... ok... I've had the same problem here. I have the K-Lite codec pack, which has provided me with EVERYTHING I need until now. I can't play .ogm files either.
I got EVERYTHING grOOvy mentioned, from this site: http://ld-anime.faireal.net/guide/ogm-en.
None of it has worked. I tried geting them all from other places but still no luck. Very frustrating to look on google and people only tell you how to mix, and take apart .ogm files, and not PLAY them.

Like I said in my above post, your system will need to have codecs to decompress ALL the audio and video tracks present in your .ogm file. Do this:

1.) Download and install gspot.
2.) Open the .ogm file with gspot, and it will tell you if your system has conflicting or missing codecs needed to play that file - alongwith the full name of the codec.
3.) Google that codec name, download it, install it and then try playing the file in a supported player.
