I myself only played Ninja Gaiden once or twice, but I beat God of War. Overall, I like God of War better, primarily becuase of the character and the simple, yet satisfying storyline. The interactive-cinematic fights between bosses, and certain enemies were very sweet, and were done in such a way that it didn't take away from gameplay. Ninjai Gaiden was awesome becuase it of the fighting system. Probably one of the deepest systems to date, and it was extremely hard. Plus, you play as a ninja, that alone makes the game cool. Overall, It's really a matter of opinion. I think both games have up's and down's and it really just depends on which one you like better.

Gah, God of War isn't out over here yet, but as good as it looks I can't see it quite matching Ninja Gaiden in my eyes. I loved the fact that it had a combat system that you could actually master, and go through those levels that gave you hours of trouble first time without even taking damage. I don't think any other game to date has managed to pull that off quite aswell as Ninja Gaiden. I'll reserve final judgement until I've played God of War though, as it does look like a fantastic game.

I like them both for different reasons. Ninja Gaiden was more challenging, but God of War's atmosphere is more 'detailed.' NG had story, but it didn't really seem like Ryu was a part of it. They didn't elaborate on anything and there was barely any dialogue. GoW has Kratos talking to the Gods of Olympus and to people in the game itself. You get a sense of who Kratos is, as opposed to Hayabusa's mystery.

I think I prefered the fighting system in Ninja Gaiden--God of War's is too easy. Even on the harder difficulties. But I like the gods' powers in GoW better than NG's ninpou--it was too hard to replenish most of th etime.

Sure, maybe Ninja Gaiden didn't have as good as a story, but that's it. The gameplay in Ninja Gaiden is unrivaled, there are no action games out that come close to the fun and depth of this game. It's fighting system is spectacular, it's so well thought out and deep and allows you to really excel at it. I've never played a game where I found parts so utterly fustrating and difficult (in a fun way of course), only to come back and storm through them without getting hit once after I've gotten better at the game.

Plus, with Ninja Gaiden you basically got a free sequel with the Hurricane Pack vol 1 & 2, and that's another plus.

So while I enjoyed God Of War, I can safely say that it has nothing on Ninja Gaiden.

I liked Ninja Gaiden. The only reason why I liked GoW was cause I got to see boobs :p
