need help with steam and offline play

ok first off ive neva used steam before and wot i wud like to no is how do i play esf offline? and if it can b done can u tell me the steps to acheive this also ive tried pulling out the internet cable but steam just appears to freeze and wont load the game so n e help with this problem wud b appreciated

first off, it might be better helped if you type with sentences and litteracy, anyways just open esf, and go "new game" and it makes it on lan automatically, then if you want to make it ONLINE type sv_lan 0 in console

yea my half life is updated to 1.1.1.0 and steamed updated it and said that it was ready for offline play but i don't know how to make it so that esf plays in offline mode. all i get when i run esf is create game, join game, options then steam options.so i dont have the new game option and do i have to run steam to actually play the game. like open steam then play games then esf. or can i go get it so that i just run esf without waiting for steam to run. sorry if i sound like a newb or have grammar errors but english isnt my strongest subject

To make ESF work offline all you have to do is not be conected to the internet and start STEAM. Then STEAM will ask you if you want offline mode or retry the conection. Click on offline mode.

Then normaly start ESF and make a server click on create game and set it up.
When the server starts add bots using the console or 1 of the 2 bot menus.

Just press create game and you have yourself a game. If you mean story line game, esf doesnt have it. sry
