Firstly, If you don't use Steam, then Download Steam First. WON no longer exists and Earth's Special Forces does no longer supports the WON Version, so Download Steam First. Once you have done that, Check This Thread how to Install Earth's Special Forces. For other questions, you could always check the Frequently Asked Questions thread first. All the answers and help you need are in these threads.

You can still play with WON offline, but for most people it's very buggy. I can't tell you anything specific, because it is against forum policy. All I can say is that the version of Half-Life you are using is probably outdated. I can't tell you anymore cause I'd get banned.

P.S. Hey I'm from Serbia too! S'a ima?

Let's take it one step further, dan. I want you to stop mentioning WON all together. We don't need people dropping hints on how to get around Steam either.

Yes, Steam is great. Install Steam, Install Half-life, Run Half-life, quit Half-life, install ESF. Easy as Buu-made person pie :).

Alright, no more WON from me. But if he already has the game set up with Steam, that means that he had legally purchased Half-Life. Is it okay to mention WON then, at least through PM? So other people won't find ways to bypass Steam. Just curious.

Using WON isn't illegal...I have a legit copy of HL1 and I use it, but steam is just used for online play because WON died out.

And you're right WON is a little buggy with the newer version of esf though, so using steam is the better option.

There is absolutely no point into trying to bypass Steam. Besides, I think Pain meant reframing from discussing how to bypass Steam entirely.

Well, if there was no point, then Pain wouldn't warn me about it, now would he? There definitely is a point, and you all know what that is, but I will not mention it.

WON is an old, defunct system, neither updated, or intended to be used any longer. Tell people to use it and they wind up asking for help about it here - where only Steam is supported.

WON is not some magical way to get around Steam. Half-Life costs $9.95 online. If you refuse to buy a legitimate copy you're incredibly cheap, even by warez standards.

By having Steam, you are proving that your copy of whatever game is legitimate and not pirated.

Yes, but that doesn't mean that there is no point at bypassing Steam. But since you already brought it up, I guess I can explain: Some people would rather bypass it so they can use HACKED versions of Half-Life to play ESF. They don't want to pay the $10-20 to buy the game legally. So they prefer not to use Steam.

Look, I have a legitimate copy of Half-Life, one of my friends bought it for me for my 12th birthday. I never used a hacked copy of the game. But a lot of people that I know did and use it to this very day, AND play ESF with it.

I don't want you telling, hinting, or even thinking about posting anything even remotely related to bypassing Steam on the forum. The forum includes PM's. And if you want to be a smartass and try to contact people through their personal contact information to tell them, I will find out, and it will be your ass.

Clear enough?
Good.
