Get off my couch
So I used to have these and they were pretty nice but the cord was severed by a pet rabbit (gone now) which if I go back to will cost me about $40
Fairly comfortable, Detachable mic.

So now I have these I think
Something cheap when my Fatalities broke, Get uncomfortable (an hour or two), Sound quality ok but it cuts out often. I have to squeeze the inline controls to make it come back

I found these today

Will set me back $138 .From what I've read and seen on youtube. Comfort is good, sound is nice and plug and play works well. Also they are wireless, But they look dumb :p

Now what I need

Mostly (like 99.9%) will most likely be solely PC use. Gaming, Watching TV/Movies, Music

The Afterglows kinda looked alright for incase I decide to use it on a console.

I'm not after a cheap pair this time. I want something to last, Something I can wear for a long time with it remaining comfortable and some decent sound output

Mic quality isn't high on my list, I mostly play SP and when I go online I'm fairly quiet

Glanced at Razor a while ago but haven't looked that way yet. Kinda made the decision to upgrade a few hours ago. Been meaning to for a while because I hate my current pair but been lazy :p

The very best there is.

Classified.
If you got some skills and there's enough cable left on both sides, you can fix the cable yourself.

/facepalm

Astro's are very expensive, but people do seem to love them.

I plan on getting a pair or Tritton Detonators soon myself, although that's for Xbox use. Not sure if they're PC compatible.

These are the type of thing where it raises your standard and spoils you so you feel less efficient without them. Kind of like going from a macro padded keyboard to a regular one. These things are great. These are the ones I used to use before my kids left em on the floor and I stepped on it. Going to buy a second pair in the next few weeks so I would totally recommend them. Great sound, great mike, totally comfortable. If I could choose for you it would be these. That's how much I recommend them. They also have a wireless version called the G930. I might even get the wireless ones this time.

well if you can get ahold of those logitechs out there get em! Razer idk much about. seems too designer for my taste. not that it looks bad, because they are very attractive products, just that i wonder if they worry more about appearance than performance.

I got myself a logitech g5 mouse wich is the best imo.
Still works perfect after 3 years of daily use lol.

For a headset i'm pretty new to it myself.
I bought myself a logitech g35 a few months ago and it's awesome.
Only the surround is sometimes not what it's supposed to be.

But if i wanted to buy a new one myself i'd go for these.
http://www.corsair.com/vengeance-1500-dolby-7-1-usb-gaming-headset.html

Read some articles and comparisations about it with the g35 and it seems that
the corsair one works a bit better when it comes to surround and the sound quality is better to.
Or so i read. Still doesn't take away that the g35 is friggin awesome lol

--- edit ---

Edit: theres also a wireles version... vengeance 2000

Apparently the Corsairs are uncomfortable.

G35 is on my radar, next to the Megalodon atm. The price is deterring me a bit. I could get the Tiamat (True 7.1) a bit cheaper then the Mega but I quickly came across alot of bad reviews.

Thinking I might just want a 5.1 rather than a 7.1 though. For some reason the Turtlebeach headsets aren't floating my boat

Edit: Some searching has narrowed my choice to

Logitech G35 ($135 on eBay)
Razer Megalodon ($145 from a local shop)

or if I go 5.1

Turtle Beach Z6A ($128 from Turtle Beach's eBay store)

Leaning heavily towards the Razer's

If you do buy the Razers in the end, please make a quick review in this thread. I would love to hear what you think of it if you get it.

Blah i hate ebay...

Other than that my choice would be the g35.
I love mine and i can't imagine me having another headset with
a frigging little control thingy on the cord... it's so annoying imo.
And the one of the razer looks kinda huge lol
