Yea that was extremely annoying. I hate those chapters that are nostalgic...save that for the freakin anime.

Well episode 40-41 was alright. There was hardly any action just naruto slowly transforming into his 4 tails form. This episode reminded me a lot of dbz the drama leading to the huge fight and then let down at the end till next episode which isn't going to be aired till Jan 10th 2008.

For an hour long episode I was very disappointed but maybe next episode will be worth this wait.

The pace of this double episode was annoying as hell. The first ep was just staring.
Last week I thought it would be a double ep because they show the whole fight.
I was really excited to see it animated, but now >.<

I hated how Naruto's face was shown for half of both episodes.

I was so pissed with this special. The only redeeming quality was the mini kyuubi effect (at the very end after narutos skin is destroyed). But like phobius said, it was very DBZ-ish with the 5 minute face offs and naruto "powering up" the entire episode. Oh well, it's better than a filler, and it really got me psyched about the next episode.

If you haven't seen it yet I recommend just watching the last 5 minutes and then the preview for the next episode.

Yeah it definitely felt like they stretched a single episode into a double.

spoiler: Yeah we finally got confirmation on tobi's identity, it will be interesting to see how he fights against the konoha team and Jiraiya finally dies after like 3 chapters of near death. And finally it looks like we're going to see sasuke vs. itachi which i think is the bit everybody's been waiting for.

Who else thinks that the manga is going to end soon? The fight betwwen Sasuke and Itachi will probaly
reveal the secrets about the Uchiha clan/the sharingan/Tobi=Madara. There aren't many bad guys left
except for Kabuto and Pain/Madara. I think the Sasuke fight will reveal secrets about Madara's plans.

You forgot about the rest of the surviving Akatsuki, there will probably be multiple betrayals, and there's probably more to the story than the Akatsuki and Orochimaru.

Well currently there is:
Sasuke vs. Itachi
Naruto (Konoha) vs. Akatsuki
Orochimaru vs. (maybe) Konoha

So there really isn't that much if a conflict left.
Anything else would be DBZ-like: villain appears and is defeated.

I also thought it was beginning to end.
There's also Suigetsu vs. Kisame
Konan and Zetsu are also alive and not currently in any battles but I'm not sure who they'll get killed by.

I don't think Madara will get beaten by the Konoha team, the fight will probably go undecided and he'll get away or something, I think it'll be Naruto who kills Pain and I also think its setting up for a Naruto vs. Sasuke pt2. Kabuto is still around but I don't think he's that big of a threat anyway.

Even Sasuke said if Orochimaru was 100% he probably could not have defeated him. So I think Kabuto is going transform fully into Orochimaru and try to destroy Konoha I bet.

We don't know how Orochimaru's power is split up. Sasyuke took some of his powers (regeneration, summoning mandra) when he wtfpwned him in his mind.

And Sasuke mentioned Orochimaru's weaknees for being the reason why he defeated him so easily.
He didn't really say it was impossible to defeat him at 100%. And Kabuto is still just another body.
Orochimaru will still suffer from the same weaknesses as before.

Orochimaru reminds me of Voldemort lol. Still I don't think Kabuto is going to be such a big threat. I mean Kabuto is a mediocre shinobi and Orochimaru is now just a parasyte.

Ya but now you add medical nin to orochimaru which gives kabuto one hell of an arsenal and could very well come up with attacks to use the snakes and medical nin together and we know how powerful those medic nin's are kabuto took out tsunade if not for naruto she would probably be dead.

384 Spoilers I've just downloaded the RAW and Itachi is in big big trouble. Sasuke actually managed to impale him with his katana. Wonder if he'll die that easily lolz
