Alright. 118 was decent, it's the clever moves that the charecters pull off that really make it a cool show, at least I think.

But there was one thing that bothered me. What was up with the monitoring equipment? I was under the impression Naruto took place in a time where there wasn't this kind of technology. I thought it was really lame to see monitors and things like that, but yet we are yet to see one gun in the anime, odd.
tough we had already seen these camera's with monitors since they look at the training in the woods, wenn gaara enters the tower with his team as the first.

Hmm.. must have forgot, still... the use of technology like that in an anime like Naruto is kind of lame in my opinion.

It's an odd kinda mix in the universe. I mean just look at the uniforms; not exactly typical ninja fare. In fact, the 3rd Hokage was the only "classical ninja" in terms of costume pretty much, and he was a geezer.

Anyway they have walkitalkies, electricity, etc... no guns, but gun powder and electronics don't always coincide do they?

Who's saying a gun would work against a ninja anyway? It's like DBZ where a gun couldn't hurt a ninja who could easily evade the bullets. The technology for cameras and stuff works, but warfare and combat is ninja-style

I haven't seen the episode yet but I'm definatly looking forward for the other episodes (I have not yet read the manga chapters of this yet ^^)

But when it happens, it gets you all excited on what's gonna happen, like if they shoot the arrow or not

I liked the episode (new years spec: 116-117)..not the best but it was as great an episode can be when one of your fav characters dies, after watching frieza saga a little explaining doesnt bother me and back storys of the sound four interest me,i wanna know more about the enemies they are facing but explaning the same thing 2-3 times gets on my nerves..its like how stupid do you think we are?;P and now is the question is Neji really dead? that mark on his head was supposed to be lifted at death but i sure as hell didnt se anything lifting:]

bottom line the reason why it upsets us that they talk so much in the middle of the fighting is because we think naruto is great and the fight scenes rocks=P
ps: really looking forword seeing kimimaro fight and to see gaara again and lee offcourse back on his feet.

The basis of Naruto is the life of a Ninja in Ninjitsu school, so, you can only expect the script to depict a lesson or class being taught as each of the fights develop. I'm sure each and every ninja was taught to be very critical, and to think each and every move out, before they act, and everytime they explain an action, it was previously explained in Ninjitsu school under the same complex and very descriptive manner. It's why you see a lot of stationary thought, since it is quite and considerably understandable that it requires patience and the acknowledgement of truly understanding your opponent to be successful. If your going to watch Naruto, your going to have to expect a class, regarding the basics and extremes of Ninjutsu, to be taught as it goes along.

Exactly, the whole point of the anime is to explain exactly what is happening and the thought processes of the ninja's. Although it can be boring at time I kinda like watching the twists and strategic thinking.

personally i think some people should stop trying to analyze a cartoon and just watch the damn thing for what it is. If u hadnt noticed by now about 90% of anime will explain something more than once. kenshin, dbz, tenchi, berserk they all do it. some just do it more than others

Amazing how you 1. Just told a spoiler, and 2. Answered your own question.

1. If Neji's cursed seal isn't lifted HMMM WONDER WHAT THAT MEANS?!

2. You just told some spoilers for some who havent even watched the manga, Job well done.

By confirming what he said as a factual spoiler, you just in fact made the spoiler.

no.. gaara ruined it...
but anyways.. i noticed back in a couple of posts about the technology..
in one of kishimoto's interviews, he tells us that he does this on purpose, Naruto is set in modern times, just without the guns.

I liked 116-117, but i thought that the manga made the fight have much better portrayal of what happens in the fight.. I was acutallly kinda dissappointed of how poorly the fight was animated..

No I do believe Shin Carl made it a spoiler, Gaara merely stated facts about the episode, it was Shin Carl who actually confirmed it. Congratulations, in your attempt at being a smartass you've just made an idiot of yourself.

I'm downloading 119 now, Hoping its gonna explain a few things that didn't make sense in 118

its called an observation

and if u payed attention neji said that the mark on his forehead would seal away the byakugan when he died

which quite clearly did not happen

pointing out something that happened in the show is not a spoiler because u watched it happen its not his fault if u didnt pay attention and see that nothing happened to neji

if it was a spoiler i guess id have to warn each and every person who posted for spoilers
