My Transform Gizmo is having a problem

Alright, I can transform and all that, but, I can't do it to the seperate Axis. Like, I can't JUST move a vert on the Z plane, or a vert down the Y plane....I can only move all three at the same time. The little arrows are gone...how do I get them all back so I can move all the planes individually?

(I'm trying to model Kakihara's head, then I figured, I would try and model the body, and if not that, I'll hack the head onto a body a model of the Yakuza, and change some stuff around.)

Press x....

sounds right to me. you can also toggle which direction it will move with F8, but thats only if the gizmo is full function.
