This is really strange, I have an nvidia chipset on my motherboard (geforce 6150), and I always thought my onboard sucked ass because I only get about 65 fps max in CS 1.6 (I did change the frame limiter to 200), and even lower when someone throws a smoke grenade (around 35fps) .
Well last night I started loading CS: S because I am ordering a video card soon and I wanted to have it ready. Well I got home from school and saw it was done downloading from steam and loaded it for ****s and giggles to see how it would do on my onboard. To my surprise the recommended settings for my system were pretty ridiculous. Everything was set to high except the resolution, which was set to 800x600, which is what I run CS 1.6 in so I stuck with it and went ingame... Look at this ****:
How is it that I get better fps in source than I do in 1.6...inside the building in cs_assault it shoots up to 100 sometimes...wtf.
Anyway, I just wanted to share that because it's pretty strange. I have been playing 1.6 on here for a few months thinking my onboard set-up couldn't handle source..
