I decoded to give it a try and im liking it more than IE right now.

But it changes the way I view certain things in the forum.

Does anybody know how to fix that?

If I remember correctly, I don't think that Firefox supports the table/filter effect(s) that IE does. I use Firefox as well, so I see what you mean.

The reason I think this is the case is because I remember someone asking Cuc to disable the glow on his text one time, and I remember he mad a rather witty retort about Mozilla not being able to handle that type of effect...so I suppose it's just preference....other people will see your table/effects if they use IE...

Yeah, that's one of the things I've noticed about Firefox, it just can't support it. It's not that big of a deal though, atleast I don't think so.

Yea, firefox dosn't support that kind of stuff. I don't think its a reason not to use it though, its far supierior to IE in almost every way. Kinda like Linux vs Windows on a smaller scale ;)

IE is full of holes so you can get hacked or spied on, automatically installs things such as spyware, allows popups, isn't as clean looking as firefox, and microsoft really stole IE from another company, and changed its name. Thats whats wrong with IE

You all do realize that all of those browsers are still really IE with a different interface and some few extra options. Go ahead, run Firefox, then press Ctrl Alt Delete > processes. you'll see IE there. (IExplorer, not explorer.) Go ahead, try to close it, Firefox will shut down. You cant get rid of IE as it is basically your windows, thats exactly why if you shut down explorer windows is actually still there but the interface is gone.

IExplore is not run when Firefox is used. Firefox runs its own process, and is no way associated with IE.
I don't know where you got that information, but it couldn't be more wrong.

He was talking about on the processes tab, not the applications tab.

IE is "IExplore.exe"

IExplorer.exe is spyware/adware

Probably why it's still open when you open up firefox.

IExplorer.exe is no spyware or adware and do not ever try to remove it!!!!!

IExplorer.exe is the thing that makes your computer run. And it is run every time you start your PC with windows. Every window you open is an explorer window run by IExplorer.exe. That is why every window shuts down as you shut down IExplorer.exe. And about Mozilla and Firefox, I am not sure about them never used them but I think a lot of the engine will be used from the Microsoft Internet Explorer but tweaked a lot, just because the internet explorer is the standard and because it is totally integrated within windows.

You're confusing IExplore with Explorer. Two completely different processes.
And no, neither Firefox nor Mozilla use the IE engine. I don't know why people insist on that; it's not true.
We're getting off-topic here, this wasn't meant to be a "compare IE to other browsers!" thread.

I have just switched over to firefox, and all in all, it is much better than IE. But I have one gripe.

Right now i'm typing this in IE because for some reason, I can not enter the esf forums on firefox, it just freezes and I have to end task it. It only freezes when I enter the esf forums though, not any other site I go to. And I have no idea why. Does anyone know whats going on here? Because it's really pissing me off.

Ha Ha Ha . . .

You are so wrong its not even funny. Go ahead, press Ctrl Alt Del, and you will find no "IExplorer.exe" running (assuming yout not running IE at the time), but if you use firefox, you will find a firefox.exe. I also tried your theory of shutting down iexplorer.exe, and it killed IE, nothing happened to firefox. IExplorer and Explorer aren't the same thing, one is Microsoft's crap browser and one is Windows Explorer (your start menu, the way you browse folders, etc).

I dunno, maybe you just woke up and wrote that, because its not true in the least.

Firefox > Internet Explorer
Linux > Windows

Nice system eh?

iexplore.exe isn't a critical component of windows... you're thinking of explorer.exe's shell integration with windows native web-browsing abilities.

Go to c:\windows\system32\dllcache (you might have to type it into your address bar at the top of any window), scroll down and delete iexplore.exe (it's just a backup in case the "real" iexplore.exe gets deleted).

The go to c:\program files\internet explorer and delete iexplore.exe . XP will popup saying OMG CRITICAL FILE DELETAGE OH NOES >_<!!

So, choose not to replace the files, and now IE isn't present on your system.

Explorer.exe/the Windows kernel do have some of the web surfing functions built into each window (address bar, search, bookmarked sites/folders, etc.), but Windows does not REQUIRE Internet Explorer installed.

As has been said, you probably had spyware or your IE was horribly bugged.
