I edited an original half life model (gordom freeman) and exported the smd, but whenever i try to compile the qc file it says:

************ ERROR ************
cannot find bone Bip01 L Leg for bbox

i've checked and i think the bone is there, but i got the model from a uni computer so there's a chance that someone has messed with the file

there has to be something assigned to the bone,

also if you compile a model with a bone with nothing assigned to it that bone will be deleted from the model, (so make sure you got it how youw ant it before you compile) you can only go without assigning a vertex to a bone when there is not bounding box assigned to it

hmm

well now that i think about it, i edited the right leg and then deleted the left and mirrored it, so there's a chance the new polies are still all attached to the right leg, which could cause the problem. I'll have to go home and re-assign the polies, thanks for the help

Still, if you WANT a bone to have nothing assigned to it you have to remove the hbox in the .qc for that bone. Jsut erase the
$hbox "bone name here" "co-ords"
line for the bone
