Mic works but it wont for Half Life

My microfone works alright i think, it amplifies my voice if im not doing anything.
But with Half-Life it sayes something about direct sound and some strange things i cant read because its post them in the console halfa a second before they fly up the screen with the console

What can i do

Unfortunately, i cant help you. But If you press your console key which is ~ then read what it says and post it here. Maybe someone will be able to.

And if the console wont come down when you press ~ then add -console to your target line on your hl.exe file. And remember to put in the space,

hl.exe-console :no:
hl.exe -console :yes:

Some sound cards wont work becuase ther not full duplex cards.

your sound card has to have the ability to record and output sound at the same time. to test if you have a full duplex card just try to record your voice while listening to music.

You can also try to run another program while playing. Roger Wilco, for example, is a good one. You can just run Roger Wilco, start a channel for you and your friends and run HL. Then you can use your mic with the press of a button.
