Gameplay > Eye Candy in my opinion. This would be a trivial addition. It would look cool, but the game can live without it. Maybe in later builds, but I'd rather have SSJ3 than a little lightning during advanced melee.

Its not like he's asking to revamp the whole game engine, just a few eye-candy. Just a little something for the team to work on till 2006 when 1.3 will probably be out (if it gets out)

Like the idea Niobe, i'm sure soon enough someone running a 16mb gfx card will complain that it'll lag them, but not me.

I'd like to see lightning at the following points

-Fierce hits
-Third Form (any character, SSJ2 etc) prepunches (when attacking)
-The last hit of a special combo
-Blocked basic melee
