Yup, very sad indeed.
This HAS to do with videogames, but these act as a small push towards the "going off the edge" area.
For example:

Now whether that was an act or not, it doesn't matter. The fact is things like those HAPPEN, otherwise we wouldn't be at this thread talking about an xbox psycho.
If you look closely, the kid was already upset about something before he started the game. As his desperation and frustration both start to grow, his keyboard is getting more and more ****ed up lol. Anyways, by thinking that a videogame is going to get you back on your feet and cheer you up, you obviously think you're gonna keep winning and/or that the game is gonna load in no-time. And by thinking so, you take the huge gamble of tossing yourself into a nervous breakdown if you keep losing or the game won't load.
The point is: Video games DO have to do with violence, if AND ONLY IF you're a violent and/or nervous/frustrated person.
If you take video games as fun, you're playing it safe, which is good. If you take them as "I gotta win this thing, I wanna be the best, blah blah blah", well...
I'm not saying that it's justifiable or comprehensible what the "father" did, I'm just saying that it all happens for a reason.
