With the highlights you have gaven him, it makes his face seem more plasticy then realy flesh, could you try to make it seem like more flesh like? (I can't exactly help you more, since you have been texturing so much longer then me, I'm sure you know what Im trying to tell you)
Other then that, you could possibly use some planes and alpha map the moustache to give it a more lugi feel to it, Im not sure if that would use less and/or the same amount of polygons though.
