I disagree with it being terrible, however I don't have many hopes for SW either. As you pointed out yourself.. Disney can't do anything half way. It's always amazing, or horrible. SW being a well established franchise now playing by Disney's rules (though I can't imagine those being much worse then the rules the prequels played by), I'm going to assume it'll end up the latter and maybe be pleasantly surprised.

I've seen more of TOS than the others, and though they're bad, there's no saving grace to TOS. It's one of those instances where people like it because they think they're supposed to like it.

@Mario: I didn't say anything about Disney. They make the Marvel films, and I like all of them. The movies they "mess up" tend to have shitty source material, so it's hard to tell if Disney mismanaged the film or if a film about a Persian prince who has a dagger that lets him rewind time and do parkour probably shouldn't have been made.

That might explain your hatred of Star Trek. I've seen every episode of all the shows except ToS, because even I can't get past the first few episodes of ToS. Deep Space Nine is where it's at, although the first season is pretty slow.

TOS is okay, I mainly get blitzed and enjoy the campiness with friends.

Agreeing with Sub, mid-season 2 DS9 takes off, ESPECIALLY at the end of season 2. It's my favorite because it broke from the ToS/TNG formula and focused on story arcs instead of "forehead of the week". Odo owns.

I started to dislike Odo somewhere near the end. The best characters were Garak and Quark, and Sisko was pretty badass once he got the beard.

Garak is my absolute favorite. Even the actor who played Odo voiced his displeasure with the whole Odo/Kira thing the writers went with.

The world was concerned that being left with Disney might not be in the best interests of Star Wars. Disney assured the world that they understand the honour and that they would not abuse the privilege.

Disneys first apparent use of the license was Angry Birds Star Wars. Rovio is already well known for their whorish use of merchandise. This should tell you something about the things to come from Disney...

Abrams is really good at delivering idiot-friendly, run of the mill cinematography. Oh how I look forward to having film cliche hammered into my skull once more.

And yeah, Star Wars is the height of complex moral decisions, deep thinking and amazing cinematography. There's no way anything Abrams can do will suit the level of awesomeness that is this:
