Internet Problems...

Well, you see. I downloaded ESF, and I believe that I have Half-Life 1.1.1(something like that). But, when ever I try to play online, using the internet... It doesn't allow me to. It says that I have an old version of ESF, or something. But, I downloaded the patch for 2.3. And, still nothing. I clicked update, in the program, but It sent me to a Sierra updater program, and it informed me that I have an outdated version of Half-Life, but, there are no update files for it. Help, please. And, what is STEAM, and how do I get it? I read over some other threads, and apparently, STEAM is the only way to play online? More help, please, lol.

What is WON, and.... When I search for online games using STEAM, it doesn't show ESF, and If I try to play on a Half-Life server, it just comes out with an ad., to buy Half-Life 2. More help... >.<

Just select get steam now and download it then install it and do what Carn said in the other thread -_-

yeah someone help me, i have that exact same problem. i have steam, but i dont want to use it for ESF because everytime i try to register my copy of half-life it says the key is being used. i dont want to contact the customer support because i did it once before to no avail, and to do it now it says i need to pay $10 to get a new cd. is there any way to properly run it without steam? and any way to fix this problem of needing updating? NEED HELP!!!!

Look the only choice you have is to buy HL or not to play

Loki-X, you're only options are to buy a new CD or to go through their customer support unfortunately. SSJ2Trunks, WON was the old network that Half Life used for server client connections, STEAM is the new network they use now. Follow the link Grega gave you and download it then register your CD key with Steam.

ESF no longer supports the older WON system.

dont know maby it could work but since ESF is made for STEAM i guess youd have a lot of bugs with WON

right im on a uni servrr and i dont think they allaw steam to connect that could be a problem dosent it work over ipx

This is getting rediculous... I keep getting that error message every time I try to connect to a server. Only a few servers let me connect, and none of them are EVM.

You need the newest version. I mean you need 1.2.x, 1.2 wont work. That means that you have diferent version than the others
