I have a problem installing esf123 (half-life 1)

next next next. My installation doesnt pick installation direction automatically,
and i dont know where is should install it. I cant find the right direction:cry: , and if I cant find the right one, it doesnt install. THE INSTALLATION BUTTON IS FUZZY.:smile: PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!

And dont judge me because of my lousy english:smile:

Ok. I think I got the idea of what you're talking about. Are you talking about when the Installation got greyed. It happend to me once. Or are you talking about where to install it. Here is the list of direction on where to install it.

1. Hit Browse button. Its on your right with 3 dots.
2. Click on My computer
3. Local C or D (depends on where u install ur steam)
4. click program files
5. Steam apps
6. User name
7. Then Click half life. Hit install.

If you're having any more problems please pm. I'm only trying to help. I hope it works.

The installer automatically points to where the Half-Life directory is. Also when the installation button is greyed out it means you haven't ran Half-Life yet which you are required to do.

Either way Maverick (FIN) said that the problem was fixed.

Well, I have a question for you. Did you pay for HL1 through Steam and just download it through there? Or did you use CDs?

I used to have my HL1 CD and then I brought a new comp so I just decided what the heck, just pay some money and download it from steam, save me gas money. I tried all of the above tips and apparently, none of them work. And i'm sure it is most likely because I downloaded it instead of installed directly from CD because my directories are different than the ones specified above.

And to reclarify, I ran all possible HL applications atleast once and done multiplayer on all that are able to run multiplayer atleast once. Dont know what the big problem is, my only hint is direct download. A point in the right direction would atleast help, btw. Thanks for the help. :]

Wich half life esacly do you have. Half Life 2 or Half Life Source?

Sorry i ment Half Life 1 or Half Life Source.
If you have Half Life Source than ESF will not work.

If you have Half Life 1 than it should install normaly to that foulder.
