How to make your own Mods for Half-Life?

I am not planning to make one, but I just wanted to know.
What programs do you need?
How do you use them?
Ect...

If I know this I maybe gonna make a mod, but I am not sure.

ok first you'd need a SDK which stands for somthign but I forget... I think Standard Development Kit then the person should goto http://planethalf-life.com
and look for it. You'd need to learn how to code, map, model, skin, and animate. which can be done by buyign programs needed to do this, and spending a year or two learnign all of the programs really good.

You will need a program to program in C++ (Like Microsoft Visual C++ or something)

I don't wanna learn C++.
I wanted to make a Kirby Mod, but I think I better try how to make maps or something...
