How to do modeling

Hello i am am new at modelling and i was wondering if anyone could give me any pointers on what to do and what software to use.

I don't know why people have to be so lazy. Would you build a car without any previous knowledge and not look at a diagram or instructions? Probaly not! So think of this forum as the car, and think of those big threads at the top labeled "Sticky" as your guide. Anything you need on modeling information is there and there is some helpful tutorials.
