Alright, I WAS using the wrong launcher. But, I'll sum it up.
First, download the GameTiger launcher: http://www.gametiger.net/download/v4.0/gametiger.exe
then, go here!
http://www.gametiger.net/search?game=all&mod=esf&count=100
and you get the list of ESF servers. After you've installed the launcher, all you have to do is click "connect now!" on a game's info and you're there. It's a VERY short download, and very easy to work.
